County Kildare in Song

County Memory

The memory behind Kildare in Song

County Kildare has a strong sense of land, horses, roads, old monastic memory and towns growing under the influence of Dublin. It is a county of plains, fields, racecourses, commuter life, market towns, canals, rivers and families building modern lives in places with older roots.

In Ireland in Song, Kildare can carry the meeting of old and new Ireland. Its songs may speak of St Brigid’s memory, the Curragh, town streets, canals, horse country, schools, churches and daily journeys. The tone can be open, grounded and hopeful.
