What is Ireland in Song?
A musical map of real Irish places.
Ireland in Song tells the story of Ireland through original songs inspired by real cities, towns, villages, rivers, roads, churches, saints, landscapes, local crafts and living memory.
The project is built around a simple idea: one place, one story, one song.
Local memory
Not postcard Ireland, but remembered Ireland.
The project looks for the quieter memory of places: streets people walk every day, old names, working hands, local grief, family stories, faith, hope, rivers, bridges, fields and small details that make a place feel alive.
How it works
Place → story → song → page.
Each page gathers a place, a short public description, local-memory text, song lyrics, audio or video when available, related places and links for further exploration. The aim is to make each song lead back to a real location.
Tone and culture
Irish heritage, quiet beauty and hope.
Ireland in Song is presented as a cultural music and local heritage project. It values real places, careful writing, local memory, Christian heritage where it belongs naturally, and a warm visual language rooted in green landscapes, old stone, rivers and roads.
Growing project
The map grows one place at a time.
New songs and pages can be added gradually through the CMS. Towns, villages, churches, rivers, castles, roads and special local places can all become part of the Ireland in Song map.
